The Coding Sprite
I’ve been hard at work this month. It’s actually been a bit of a whirlwind. From the seed of an idea has come a full scale passion, zing in my step & indeed this website. It is quite something to finally find your place & figure out what you want to focus on. I have nearly finished my Python CS50P course. Just 2 more lectures & 8-10 assignments I believe is all that is left. Actually very interesting having the knowledge of Python, you can see some similarities with Kotlin which is really nice as everything is feeling so familiar, even whilst switching through languages each week.
You may have noticed that my idea has grown into a a full sprouting pod at the moment. If you follow me on social media (@thecodingsprite) then you will have already seen some bts of me building the UI design, asking for user input on things & learning as much as I can, when I can.
I also left TikTok this month! I started my Coding Sprite journey on TikTok. I loved making the videos to keep me accountable as I learnt computer science but the more I learnt, the more I was very concerned about the privacy concerns & the terms & conditions that I was agreeing to. There is no way, I am agreeing to allowing anyone to use my biometric data even if they don’t plan on using it, I’m not giving that right up. So I left & am sticking with Instagram (my fav, even if the algorithm sucks), Facebook & Twitter for now.
PhotoSprite App
Work has begun on the UI Design. I have gone from wire frame & scribbles to a simple yet beautiful canvas view of PhotoSprite.
As with learning the Kotlin language, basics are down, halfway through the intermediate learnings from Android & Google (thank you for free teachings). I am already seeing a lot of code that I am picturing coming in very handy for the feature list, which is so exciting.
Hoping to finish the UI in the coming month along with moving onto the advanced part of Kotlin language. I am hoping that the first basic layer of code for the canvas UI view will be being written very shortly!
