2023 Journey Changes

Well 2023 has certainly be an upside down year for me. At the start of the year my health issues seemed under control, I had a plan & I thought this year is my year…it all went a bit wrong for a few months but now we are halfway through the year it is time for a reset. Restart the years goals & get back on track.

If you haven’t read my intro into my iOS dev journey then you may have missed that at the start of this year my iPad died, I switched to android & indeed android development, turned my back on iOS & my health went downhill again.

Well after those strange four months. (I swear it was like another universe I was living in) I am back on track with my health. Sure I will have a bad day here and there from an un-suspected item causing me to have an allergic reaction but I am lucky to live in a super controlled environment so that is becoming far more rare. (About 20+ days of a month I was having an allergic reaction before hand, now I’m down to about 5, thanks stoopid mast cells of mine). I have my full iOS setup back and indeed my development setup all ready and allergy safe! I am now back learning iOS development on a much better program.

I was learning with a free course previously. A very good course, but a very un-creative & unimaginative course. (I’m not naming & shaming)

For a creative person like myself, I felt like I was going through the motions. So I figured, only I can change things, so I did.

I decided to re-try Code with Chris CWC+ courses. I had tried his courses before but I really struggled with his layout & learning process as a neurodivergent at the time. Now with a knowledge of programming from CS50 giving me a much better starting point & Chris’s amazing updates to the format I am a full advocate for this iOS development course!

I am feeling so inspired & motivated & I love how I am not just touching on “you can do this & this” but instead getting an in-depth look into you can do this, you would use this like this & here are some visual graphics for you to understand too. Then I get the now let’s build a fully working & designed app like you would see on the app store too. It really is a well rounded course & I can’t wait to see how far I get in 100 days.

I re-started my 100 days of code challenge with this course so I can track my progress properly & I got the seven months deal price so should tie in nicely. I am hoping to get the full SwiftUI, UIKit & Swift Programming courses all under my belt in this time. I have so far developed the War Card Game, Menu App & Guidebook App. All learning valuable ways of using SwiftUI programming techniques. My confidence is growing each day & I am truly excited to see how the rest of 2023 goes now. I suppose I will keep you updated maybe monthly again now I am back blogging but it is exciting to look back on this post in early 2024 to see how much knowledge I will have gained squeee.
