Yarn App Update 1.2

It must have been a good couple of weeks now since I gave you al an update…maybe even close to a month, I can’t remember. Sadly life got the best of me, but more on that in a minute. Let’s check in & see where this app is now!

After all those bugs last time with SwiftData I went to war with the data models & making this app data awesome. Now we have full functionality when it comes to projects whether simple single projects or complex ones with many moving parts.

I also added the option to edit the project. Doesn’t matter what kind of project but say for instance you input the wrong pattern name, or you activate the pro option & want more than one counter. Now you can edit & update the project easy.

After all the trials with SwiftData, I felt like a fish out of water. But they have only made me stronger. Now I feel confident in creating functions to cause the data to be updatable, as well as saving all that data & making sure that when the user goes back to that project, that very saved data, is what is displayed so they can jump right back into their project.

Now for a new function

I wanted to work on an idea of a new functionality. I am keeping this part under wraps so to speak as it is a thing that I haven’t seen implemented yet so whilst I’m so excited I want to yell about it. I also want to be able to implement it first. But this means I am scrapping the to-do list part of the app for now & replacing it with this way cooler functionality. As a fibre hobbyist myself, a to-do list isn’t as used as this functionality would be.

Just as I began work on the data & UI needed for this life took over….

Ouch!

I managed to injure myself. A shoulder impingement. The pain was off the scales & I could barely move for a week. Fortunately the project manager made sure I was resting by often sitting on the very painful shoulder…ouch

Then the week later, life just got unbelievably busy outside of my development portion of life & I haven’t been at my laptop or desk for two weeks now. I am itching to get back & cannot wait to dive into the code & see what mess I left it in last time ha ha.

I was hoping this app would be finished & going through the journey of app store review already, but good things come to those who wait & I really want my first solo application to be fully functional before I ship it out. I know it will never be perfect, but still a good deal close would be nice. Once I have this feature down it should be linking up the settings pages to actual web pages I still need to create on here, make the UI look nice for the projects page & looking into RevenueCat before final tests are a go. Squeeeee it’s exciting. Till next time. 🧚‍♀️
