The Coding Sprite aka Billie Boo
“The more I learn about iOS development and dive into its unimaginable confusion, the more I love it. Getting to know the meanings behind what the user sees and uses, how the code becomes translated into a tool, which can bring great power. Mobile applications have become a way to communicate, and with the evolution of society, it has become more important than ever for mobile applications to help the user communicate themselves. “I’m passionate about how we use both programming and technology to express who we really are.”

Billie founded The Coding Sprite with a passion to create the software that people like her are looking for on iOS.
“I’m very lucky to be able to write about my passion and create a diary of the developmental journey ahead of me.”

The Coding Sprite
A few years ago, I was working away doing 2D animation. I sadly became injured & couldn’t draw, so what better time than to jump into a world that had intrigued me for years. A couple of years later & The Coding Sprite was born. I had no idea I would be calling myself a software engineer, let alone have learned 10 different programming languages.
My skillset has been built from a few sources, including Harvard’s CS50 program. My foundation & understanding of programming was built on computer science & is something I am so proud of achieving. Having a strong foundation allows me to be able to switch to a new language relatively easy. I have been doing iOS development for a few years now & I am throughly enjoying making apps to help & inspire people in their everyday lives.
My goal as a developer & as a human is to bring great software where it’s needed. I will never stop learning & will continue to push the envelope as far as I can within tech.
